Does The Ark require any maintenance?

No. It is a ‘set and forget’ installation.

The core component of each unit is handmade in Japan. It has no moving parts and therefore does not require maintenance. The core component is guaranteed for ten years and has an expected lifetime of 30+ years.

All we recommend is an occasional dust removal and thermal imaging test that would be applied to any other high current electrical device or switchboard.
 

What warranty comes with The Ark?

There is a warranty on the core component of the device, the transformer, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 10 years from the original date of purchase. If you discover a defect in the transformer, we will repair at our option using new or refurbished components, or if repair is not possible, replace the item. Additional parts that are subject to normal wear and tear, such as switchgear, fusing and indicator globes, are covered for their standard manufacturers warranty period of twelve months.

The core component warranty of 10-years means the unit will usually still be under the manufacturers warranty after it has paid for itself several times over.

It has an expected lifespan of 30+ years.
 

Have any claims been made against The Ark?

In the entire history of Ark sales, we have not been made aware of any operational problems that are attributable to the Ark and no claims have been made from any installations of The Ark.
 

Is there liability insurance cover for The Ark?

Energywise Pty. Ltd. carries $10 million in public and product liability insurance in coverage of The Ark.
 

Will power surges affect The Ark unit itself?

The Ark has the ability to withstand high over current conditions at a high rate of change, e.g. high power surge currents.  The Ark can withstand 2 times its maximum rated current (I) for 2 minutes and withstand shock current 105 times the maximum rated current (I) for 300msecs. The simple construction of the iron core and windings as well as the very high quality ‘H’ grade material of construction (offering high temperature withstand limit) enables The Ark to provide an extremely robust, stable supply under most normal and abnormal conditions of operation.
